Description

A fan fest for a team relocated long ago is spotlighted, with the presentation of this 1930s-1960s New York Giants mini-pennant and patch collection (11). Totaling (6) pennants and (5) patches, these vintage team supporters are a nicely preserved bunch, showing favorable Ex to Nm details, with deference to occasional tack/pin holes at some endpoints. The attention-grabbing graphics include two pennants with game action scenes, another pennant and three identical iron-on patches featuring a view of the Empire State Building, a star-spangled batter patch, a mascot with a megaphone over the Polo Grounds, an iron-on batting pose patch, and a couple of team-lettered pennants. The largest of the pennants is a 15" long example, that strongly resembles the 1958 Bazooka pennant series, but without Bazooka lettering on the accent strip at the wide end. This vintage series includes a known San Francisco Giants pennant, representing the team's move to the West Coast for the 1958 season, but there should not have been one reading "New York" in 1958.
