Description

A long-gone Hall of Famer comes into play, with this Joe Tinker cut signature. Teamed with Johhny Evers and Frank Chance, Tinker anchored the infield for the 1907-1908 Chicago Cubs back-to-back World Series winning teams. This famous trio of infielders was also immortalized in the poem "Baseball's Sad Lexicon", featuring the refrain "Tinker to Evers to Chance", which meant doom for opposing base runners. Tinker's long illness and his 1948 demise, put his signature firmly in the tough acquisition zone. Accompanied by the no nonsense inscription "Cubs", this signed 3-3/4" x 2-1/2" government postcard card cut is a satisfying example.
