Lot # 1142: Pie Traynor Signed Pair with Dual-Signed Photograph - PSA/DNA LOA & Index Card - JSA LOA

The "Hot Corner" comes into play, with this pair of Pie Traynor signed flats. Regarded as one of the best third baseman of the pre-war era, the Pittsburgh Pirates legend racked up a lofty career .320 batting average, and he was vital to the Pirates 1925 World Series championship. Joining Traynor in the signing of an 8" x 10" photograph, is fellow Hall of Fame third baseman Brooks Robinson. Both Traynor and Robinson have applied firm personalized signatures to this photograph, with Traynor's at top, and Robinson's at bottom. Centering the renowned third sackers, is longtime Tops in Sports Banquet organizer Frank Silwka Jr., to whom the personalized inscriptions are addressed. Traynor (d.1972) has also sharply signed an index card, with a personalization to a fortunate fan.
