Fight fans score a knockout collectible, with the acquisition of this Joe Louis signed 1948 Associated Press wire photograph. Sized at 10" x 7-1/4", this vintage shot pictures the reigning heavyweight champion weighing in at his training camp, as he prepares for his June 25, 1948 heavyweight championship rematch with "Jersey Joe" Walcott. The "Brown Bomber" recorded a KO victory in the 11th round and then retired for the first time, after having defended his heavyweight title more than two dozen times. Louis has signed neatly over the scale, which recorded his weight at 216 pounds.
