Description

The NBA's first Dynasty makes a welcome appearance, with this 1951-1952 Minneapolis Lakers team-signed sheet. After winning the NBL championship in 1948, and the BAA championship in 1949, the Lakers merged into the NBA. During their first five seasons in the newly formed league, the Lakers won four more championships, in 1950, 1952, 1953 and 1954. At the center of the action literally, was the NBA's first superstar George Mikan, who redined the way the game is played. Mikan is joined by fellow Hall of Famers Vern Mikkelsen, Jim Pollard, Slater Martin and John Kundla in the signing of this vintage piece of team letterhead. In all, (11) distinct period signatures adorn this Minneapolis Lakers sheet in two columns, with: Howie Schultz, Lew Hitch, John Pilch, George Mikan, Slater Martin, Joe Hutton, "Whitey" Skoog, Vern Mikkelsen, Bob Harrison, Jim Pollard, and head coach John Kundla. This attractive sheet is framed to overall dimensions of 13" x 14", in a nicely coordinated frame that's ready for immediate display.
