It’s always “Boomer Sooner” for the offered 1973 National Champion Oklahoma Sooners team-signed football with (47) signatures etched throughout the panels. Riding an unstoppable wishbone offense under the helm of first-year head coach (and former Arkansas Razorback) Barry Switzer, the champs outscored their overmatched competition by a whopping 400-133 margin. The two-tone Rawlings pigskin is lovingly painted “Oklahoma Big 8 Champs ‘73” in red ink. The relatively clean surface projects mostly clean autographs of the following players:
Arnold, Baccus, Baily, Barresi, Bodin, Brooks, V. Brown, Buchanon, Burget, Cantrell, K. Davis, S. Davis, Dodd, Dodds, Dutton, Elrod, E. Foster, J. Foster, Fulcher, S. Harris, Hussey, Ji. Kemp, McClure, McReynolds, Mildran, R. Owens, Ti. Owens, Phillips, Powers, Rossell, D. Selmon, L. Selmon (HOF), Simmon, Stevens, Stewart, Sutton, J. Taylor, Van Camp, J. Washington, R. Williams, G. Young, and (6) others;
Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA.
