Description

Get caught up on Jack Dempsey's famous career, with this pairing of a Dempsey signed book and a typed letter signed from Frank Graham.

Titled simply "Dempsey", the book is a stated First Printing dated 1960. Dempsey (d.1983) has signed so forcefully on the title page, that the impression of his signature transfers through fully to the next two pages. The book reports in solid shape, and the plastic covered dust jacket is attractive. Seen at bottom of the title page, is a personalized dedication with the signature Deke Lynch.

Frank Graham (d.1965) was a longtime sportswriter for the New York Sun, who received the Spink Award. He was also a respected author of several popular biographies. Dated February 21, 1939, Graham's letter to Dempsey is one of praise for the heavyweight champ. This letter is typed on a sheet of The Sun letterhead, which is adhered to a backerboard. Graham has concluded his correspondence with a distinct signature., and the page has a great look of period authenticity.
