Give your nod of approval to this scarce 1962-1963 Houton Colt .45s white base bobblehead. This one is the elusive blue jersey variation, regarded as quite a tough acquisition. While the white base series dates from 1961-1963, the Colt .45s (current Houston Astros) did not come into being until 1962, so there was just a two-year window for this prized piece. Topped with a Stetson-like cowboy hat, this vintage nodder has raised lettering on the jersey, and two decals on the base, including Houston lettering on the front and a logo decal on top featuring crossed Colt .45 pistols over a map of Texas. The paint is bold, the gloss is pleasing and the surface is clean. Wear around the head opening is relatively modest, though there are hairline cracks on either side of the right ear, and a very light hairline crack on the chin. Technically an Ex condition example, this piece otherwise presents a good bit better.
