Be quick on the draw for this rare 1962 Houston Colts .45s black player bobblehead. Representing a golden opportunity for advanced collectors, this piece is considered one of the rarest of all bobblehead figures. One of two Colt .45s varieties from the 1960s black player series, this one is known as the “happy face” version. An SS Corp. factory stamp under the base is copyright dated 1962. Raised letters span the jersey front, and decals are positioned on the cap and the front of the green round base. This pistol toting hombre radiates display appeal, despite a barely perceptible 1” hairline crack extending from the right check to the head opening. Typically, the head openings of bobbleheads show the strongest signs of attrition, but in this case, wear around the opening is relatively minor. There also appears to be some minor paint touch up around the H decal on the cap. Otherwise this is a splendid example of an elusive bobblehead type, presenting Ex-Mt+ details, with deference to the fairly unobtrusive conditions described above.
