Description

A WWII battle to save New York City rages in this 7/42 Timely Comics Marvel Mystery Comics #33 issue. Alex Schomburg's incredible cover sees the fire and water combo Human Torch and Sub-Mariner join forces, to thwart a deadly invasion by "Jap Hordes" bent on a "Terror Air-Raid!". Schomburg went all in on this gripping cover, with guns blazing, fists flying, and two of Timely's "Big Three" Golden Age super-heroes teaming-up to save "The Big Apple". Seen on the header, the Timely Shield mini-logo makes it third appearance. Also found in this dynamic issue, is a text story from best in the business crime novelist Mickey Spillane. CGC has graded this nicely preserved comic 4.0, Tan to Off-White Pages. Label notes are "Ray Gill story, Alex Schomburg cover, Carl Burgos, Bob Oksner, Carl Pfeufer, Syd Shores and Al Gabriele art. 3rd "Timely Shield (Mini)" logo. Text story by Mickey Spillane.".
