Tojo takes his licks on the front of this 4/42 Timely Comics Captain America Comics #13 “Remember Pearl Harbor” issue. The Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor had taken place recently, Col. Jimmy Doolittle was plotting his famous payback raid, and Captain America was doing his part on the comic book front, with a knockout uppercut delivered with declaration “You Started It! Now- We’ll Finish It!”, in a rendering by Al Avison that’s regarded as a classic cover. CGC has graded this Golden Age key issue 5.0, Cream to Off-White Pages in a Qualified Holder, due to the absence of the centerfold. Still a tremendous prize for its dynamic cover and historic importance, this one is a must for advanced Golden Age super-hero comic collectors. Label notes are “Centerfold Missing.
