St. Louis Cardinals home jersey worn by pitcher Jack Faszholz in 1953. This is significant as he only appeared in four Major League games in his entire career! The cream zipper-front flannel jersey has the team name "Cardinals" embroidered on the front, above which is the club's distinctive logo of two cardinals perched upon a bat. Chainstitched in red on the left front tail are the the player's name, the year, and the set number, "Faszholz/53-2." A "Rawlings" label and a size "46" tag are located in the collar. On the back of the jersey is the player number "41" in red on blue felt. The jersey appears to be all original as issued and exhibits light wear overall. The only noticeable condition issues are some toning throughout and light staining in spots as well as a small one-inch tear in the lower left tail trim. The zipper remains fully functional. This is a very attractive and scarce early 1950s home jersey with a particularly interesting connection to a player who was only on the roster for a short time.
