Capture a pair of tough baseball lifer signatures, with this Clint Courtney and Bob Nieman dual-signed baseball. Solid contributors to the game, Courtney and Nieman both suffered life-ending heart attacks. While managing an Atlanta Braves minor league club, Courtney died during a road trip in 1975, and Nieman went ten years later, as he was about to head to Spring Training in 1985, as a scout for the New York Yankees. The two were teammates with the St. Louis Browns in 1952, and the offered ball is a 1951-1959 OAl/Harridge model, making it a good bet the signing took place in 1952. Courtney has signed on the sweet spot, and Nieman has signed on the south panel, with both signatures rating as ("7"). Though the factory labeling stamps are faded, enough detail integrity remains to readily identify the ball type.
Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA.
