Lot # 867: Dizzy Dean Duo with Signed 8x10 Photograph & Custom Cowboy Hat

"Dizzy" Dean makes a pitch for your attention, with this signed photograph and cowboy hat pairing. Dean has boldly signed an 8x10 promo photograph for Flagstaff Beer. Written on the back of this vintage promo, is a handwritten note by Dean's wife, which reads "9-17-74, To whom it may concern, This is to authenticate the use of this glove used by my husband from 1932 thru 1934, Mrs Jay H. Dean". This note suggests this photograph originally came from an estate sale, shortly after the Hall of Fame pitcher's demise on 7/17/74. Also present, is a Resistol cowboy hat, custom made for Dean. This vintage felt hat remains in excellent condition, with little in the way of wear. The interior sweat band is marked "Made Exclusively for Dizzy Dean". Attached to the exterior band, is a Sotheby's hang tag printed with the legend "The Barry Halper Collection of Baseball Memorabilia".
