Description

Celebrate the first ever black MLB manager, with this Frank Robinson signed 1974-1975 Cleveland Indians professional model bat. Near the end of the 1974 campaign, Robinson was traded to Cleveland by the California Angels. In an historic October 2, 1974 move, Robinson was named manager for the Indians, and he served as player-manager during the 1975 and 1976 seasons. A first ballot Hall of Famer, Robinson continued managing on-and-off through 2006, and he still had some sock left as Cleveland's occasional DH during his last couple of years of going to bat.

A Louisville Slugger Genuine R161 Robinson signature model, this game-ready bat shows no signs of use, and reports handsomely. A facsimile of Robinson's signature adorns the barrel, and his uniform number 20 is written on the knob. The accompanying Mears worksheet cites a grade of 5 for the bat. Robinson has applied a signature on the barrel, which is appealing despite fading on the last letter of his surname.

Mears worksheet and hologram sticker for professional model attribution.

Full LOA from James Spence/JSA for the signature.
