Take aim at a tough Hall of Famer autograph, with these (2) Gil Hodges singed items. Respected as a good teammate, and a steady run producer with the Brooklyn Dodgers throughout the 1950s, Hodges moved west with the team in 1958, and stayed in Los Angeles through the 1961 season. In 1962, he became one of the original New York Mets, and later as manager, he would guide the "Amazin' Mets" to the greatest World Series upset of the expansion era. Hodges last season as a Dodgers player, and his first at a Met are represented with this signed pair.
Featured are:
1961 Los Angeles Dodgers multi-signed 3-3/4" x 5-1/4" album page, with Hodges (HOF, d.1972), Maury Wills, Norm Sherry, and one undetermined signature. The opposite side of this page is signed by three 1961 Cincinnati Reds players, with Bill Henry, Howie Nunn, and Jim Turner. All signatures are distinct.
1962 New York Mets inaugural season 5" x 7" Gil Hodges picture pack photograph, single-signed by Hodges. Applied by means of a red ballpoint pen, this Hodges signature is an attractive example.
Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA.
