"The Drink of Champions" makes a play for your attention, with this 1960s-1970s Yoo-Hoo trio. The chocolate-flavored beverage brand made a move to appeal to adults in the 1960s, through endorsements by "Yogi" Berra and his New York Yankees teammates. All three of the items offered here sport images of Berra, and one also depicts several other Yankees stars. These vintage Yoo-Hoo items are a tasty trio in appealing condition, with:
11" x 17" Point of sale sign (VG) is boldly signed by Berra. Along with a Berra photograph, bottles and can of the product are also pictured. The slogan reads "Enjoy Yoo-Hoo The Drink of Champions", and the word "Special" is written in the price circle.
Flat top can (EX+) with the top removed, is decorated with images of five bottle caps arrayed across the bottom, depicting from left to right Bobby Richardson, Mickey Mantle, Yogi, Tom Tresh, and "Whitey" Ford. Seen below the player images, is the legend "The Drink of Champions".
Screw cap (EX-MT) with deference to moderate oxidation on the rim and underside, was made for a wide-mouth bottle. Pictured on the top is a youthful image of Berra, accompanied by the slogan "Me For Yoo-Hoo". This screw cap appears to be somewhat scarce.
