While gold has taken a rollercoaster ride this year, its value has been rising again throughout the month of August, hovering around the $4,700 per ounce mark on the 24th, just days before the start of this current H&S auction. This prized antique coin has a 91.67% gold composition, and weighs in at 7.98 grams, making the actual gold content 0.235 troy ounce. Condition is Vf, and the design features period reigning monarch King Edward VII on the obverse, and Saint George and the Dragon on the reverse. The M mintmark stands for the Melbourne Branch in Australia.
