Description

Head way back in time to the dawn of publication for The Shadow, with this 1931-1935 Street & Smith pulp magazine collection (24). Originating as a narrator on radio program tp promote Street & Smith's Detective Story Magazine, The Shadow quickly emerged as the leading character of the genre, with his own radio show and his own pulp magazine title. The pulp series proved to be the longest running pulp hero series, with 325 issues published between 1931 and 1949. The first issue hit the newsstands April, 1931. Issues from the first few years of the lenghty run are typically the scarcest, and rank among the most sought after. Here we have two dozen of the earliest Shadow pulps, ranging from Gd-Vg 3.0, down to Fr 1.0.
