Description
A prime coin collecting target hits the block, with the presentation of this 1928 $20 St. Gaudens Double Eagle gold coin. Boasting a classic design, 90% gold content and uncirculated quality, this handsome coin is a fine example of the type. Typical of this particular date, this coin shows a strong strike with sharp detail definition. The color and luster are also appealing, though under magnified examination, a very slight greenish patina is noted on Liberty's gown and left knee, when the coin is held at just the right angle. All things considered, this coin should grade out in the MS62 to MS63 range.
