Score a fantastic poster for the 1932 Winter Olympic Games when you top the bidding action for this original period official poster by Witold Gordon. Sized at 25” by 40”, this antique poster has been mounted on a backer board for preservation. Gordon’s art deco style rendering focuses on a dramatic ski jumper crossing a map of the USA with Lake Placid as the sole place on the map. Gordon’s name is printed over the Pacific waters, just off the west coast of Mexico. Announced at the top is the event “III Olympic Winter Games,” and spanning the bottom are the Olympic Rings logo and the legend “Lake Placid, USA February 4-13, 1932.” The credit “Printed in USA” is located above the letter "A" of "USA." Moderate wear takes the form of small scattered abrasions and some surface loss at the bottom right corner. Despite these conditions, this vintage poster remains a captivating delight. Norwegian star Sonja Henie delighted the audience at these Games, winning her second of three consecutive Olympic gold medals for Women's Figure Skating.
