Description

Focus on a team loaded with talent, when you examine this 1960 San Francisco Giants team-signed book titled "The San Francisco Giants" by Joe King. Though this attractive hardcover book is printed with a 1958 copyright date, the lineup of signers is consistent with the 1960 Giants roster, best observed by the presence of rookie Mateo Alou. The inclusion of Al Worthington narrows the timeline for the period signing of this book to Spring Training, as he was traded to the Boston Red Sox on March 29, 1960. Daryl Spencer is another player who was with the Giants in 1959 but went to the St. Louis Cardinals in 1960. The biggest names noted are Hall of Famers Willie Mays, Willie McCovey, Orlando Cepeda and Juan Marichal, with Mays, McCovey and Cepeda each having provided two signatures.
