Description

The great Willie Mays comes in many shapes and sizes, in this 1960s-2000s statue, figurine and doll collection (23). Boasting (4) Mays signed pieces, this collection covers Mays days with the Birmingham Black Barons, and the New York/San Francisco Giants. The “Say Hey Kid” is posed for batting, fielding, nodding, and of course making a basket catch in this considerable assortment.

Featured are:

1958-1963 Hartland Plastics statue without arms, signed on the back above the numbers.

Michael Ricker like-new fielding pose pewter statue with marble base and signed plate, is limited-edition numbered “242/610”. (This piece is fairly heavy).

1993 Salvino batting pose statues with bats (2) both Nm-Mt, both signed on plates at the front of the bases. Both limited-edition numbered, with “1209/1500” and “1411/1500”.

1962 Round white base bobblehead, repaired, Ex-Mt details, head tilts right.

Modern bobbleheads (6) like-new, with: Birmingham Black Barons (2); and assorted Canadian issues (4).

Cooperstown Bears limited-edition doll in NY Giants uniform Nm-Mt+, limited-edition numbered “164/2500”.

Vintage Sun Valley Dairy trophy desk set, pen holder and pen are absent, trophy statue shows moderate wear.

2003 Batting pose statue by Kent Walker, with 15” x 5” wood base. The bat is broken, and the base is lettered “Giants 24”.

1996 Danbury Mint Bishop chess piece with cracked but intact bat, presents Nm details.

1979 Metallic Creations 3” basket catch statues (3), average Nm with: pewter (2); and bronze.

Painted batting pose 3” metal statue presents like-new.

2000 Behrends Willie Howard Mays Jr. batting pose statue Nm-Mt+.

Sports Impressions porcelain statues (3) with: 1989 “500 Home Run Club limited-edition numbered “1699/5,660” (MIB) with box, base and hang tag; 1990 Superstar Series “Famous Catch” limited-edition numbered “1443/1990” (MIB) with box, base and COA; 1990 Miniature Series with box, base, COA and hang tag is broken at the feet, otherwise presents like-new details.

Also present is a 1988 Hartland 25th Anniversary empty box only.
