Description

A highly prized Hall of Famer signature and a historic moment in postseason play await with this Jackie Robinson signed 8" by 10" photograph. The scene is the top of the eighth inning during Game 1 of the 1955 World Series at Yankee Stadium, with the New York Yankees leading the Brooklyn Dodgers by a score of 6-4. Pinch-hitter Frank Kellert is at bat for the Dodgers, while teammate Jackie Robinson is successfully stealing home, as Yankees backstop Yogi Berra attempts to tag him out. An essential inclusion for an advanced autograph collection, this Robinson signature is a bold application at bottom-right, accompanied by the salutation "Best wishes." Given Robinson's death in 1972, this is obviously a vintage photograph. However, the photograph type cannot be determined, as it is firmly adhered to a backerboard, hiding any potential credit stamps, captions or dating on the reverse. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA.
