His career batting average of .358 ranks him on the shortest of short lists for all-time batting leaders, and his 301 home runs came when hitting four-baggers was just coming into style. Hornsby (d.1963) has applied a fantastically bold signature to the offered 5" x 3-1/2" cut, which also bears the personalization "To Edward from".
