Description

A classic postseason matchup is remembered, with the offering of this 1957 World Series full ticket. This Fall Classic opener was contested between the New York Yankees and the Milwaukee Braves on October 1, 1958, at Milwaukee County Stadium, with the Braves winning 4-3. These same teams had met in the previous season's World Series, with the Braves surviving a tough, seven-game battle, to win their only championship of their Milwaukee tenure. The Yankees were enjoying another of their many dynastic runs, and they took revenge on the Braves for the previous season's loss. In a testament to these deeply talented teams, the 1957 and 1958 World Series both went the full seven games. Warren Spahn got the win for the Braves in this Game 1, with the support of home runs by Bill Skowron and Hank Bauer, while the Yankees Ryne Duren was saddled with the loss, in relief of ace Whitey Ford.
