Description

Fill a big hole in your Hall of Fame autograph collection, when you bring home this Hugh Duffy signed and inscribed index card. One of the biggest stars of the 19th Century, Duffy retired in 1906, tied for fifth on the career home run list with 106. In 1894, he set the still standing single season batting average record, with a .440 mark. Duffy has neatly signed this crisp card by means of a steel-tip fountain pen, and he has included the inscription "Boston Red Sox". After stepping down from managing after the 1922 season, Duffy remained with the Red Sox as a scout until 1953. His long-ago demise in 1954, makes his signature a seriously tough acquisition, and this satisfying example is a prime candidate for framed display.
