Lot # 2226: 1954-1960 Matchbox Moko Lesney Collection (29) in Original B Series Factory Boxes with (2) No. 8 Carrying Cases

Diecast collectors dive deep into Matchbox history, with the examination of this 1954-1960 Moko Lesney #1-75 collection (29) in original B Series factory boxes. Matchbox began the rollout of popular scale model vehicles in 1953, and reportedly only the first seven vehicles were issued in A Series boxes. That means the great majority of the #1-75 Series made their debut in B Series boxes, such as those offered here. Vehicle condition is broadly pleasing, averaging Nm to Mt quality, with deference to a few presenting as slightly lesser. The boxes are generally solid and attractive with minimal to light wear, though a minority share show moderate to considerable wear, including one with an absent end flap and several others with detached or partial end flaps. There’s also one box with a full tear across one panel. All in all, this is a very satisfying bundle, populated with some of Matchboxes' earliest issues.
