Rock, who makes an appearance as "Sgt. Rocky/The Rock of Easy Co." in this classic prototype issue. During the Silver Age, DC famously employed several popular anthology titles as proving grounds for new characters. A shining star from the beginning, Rock would officially make his true first appearance in Our Army at War #83. Prior to this famous first issue, there were several prototype issue appearances in the anthology titles G.I. Combat and Our Army at War.
