While it's impossible to call any other period than the Babe Ruth/Lou Gehrig dynasty the highpoint for the Yankees franchise, the 1950s have their own special allure.

With Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra anchoring the lineup, this glorious decade saw the Yankees win 8 AL pennants and 6 World Series championships. If we stretch back to 1949, we mark the start of a five-season stretch of total dominance, that saw the "Pinstripers" go 5-for-5 in Fall Classic play.
