Description

On May 4, 1929, the New York Yankees Murderer's Row lineup took aim at the fences of Comiskey Park, in a high-scoring game against the White Sox. From this offensive shootout, comes this antique White Sox ticket stub. Graded VG 3 by PSA, this stub represents an 11-9 Yankees win, that saw Lou Gehrig go 4/4, with 3 home runs and a walk. In the same battle, Babe Ruth went 3/5 with a homer, and Bob Meusel followed suit, also going 3/5 with a homer. Coming off back-to-back championships in 1927-1928, the deadly Murderer's Row gang made headlines everywhere they went. A fateful Saint Valentine's Day had come and gone, and it wasn't exactly a massacre, but surely the boxscore from this game got top billing in the Chicago Tribune's obituary section, for the DOA Sox.
