Description

Admit one to a historic postseason event, with this 1939 World Series Game 4 ticket stub. Issued at Crosley Field on October 8, 1939, this stub is from a game that saw the New York Yankees clinch their record fourth consecutive World Series championship. It was also the Yankees second straight Fall Classic sweep. The winning runs came off the bat of Joe DiMaggio, who singled home two runs in the top of the 10th inning of Game 4, and then scored when Cincinnati Reds catcher Ernie Lombardo was unable to retrieve the ball after a home plate collision with Charlie "King Kong" Keller. Johnny Murphy got the win in relief, and Keller and Bill Dickey hit homers in the seventh inning. PSA has encapsulated this historic stub with a grade of FR.
