Stadium/arena seat enthusiasts encounter a potentially one-of-a-kind creation, with the discovery of this 41" x 31-1/2" x 14" Boston Garden arena seat pair. This vintage two-seat section has been married to an exceedingly rare Braves Field end of row iron armrest accent piece, sporting a round B.N.L.C. logo and a stenciled number 22. The initials on this rare logo piece stand for Boston National League Club (Boston Braves). The seats are numbered 5 and 6, obviously not end of row numbering, and later date bolts have been employed for attachment of the logo section to the seat pair, indicating this marriage of architectural elements was cobbled together at some point by a resourceful, display-minded individual. The lower section of this super-rare iron end piece features a lattice design, with a catcher's mitt on a diamond at center. The wood slats and the armrest toppers show a pleasing patina-like finish, with some natural wood tone showing through the green paint. Signs of authentic use/wear include scattered gouges and abrasions on the wood sections, and age-appropriate oxidation on the metal frame. Bolted to a wood base for freestanding display, these seats remain sturdy and broadly appealing, and the extreme rarity of the initialed end piece makes the pair a tremendous prize for stadium/arena seat specialists.
The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot. Local pickup at our Silver Spring, MD office is highly encouraged.
