From the Mickey Vernon estate originates the offered photograph display picturing President Dwight D. Eisenhower awarding a silver bat to the Washington Senators All-Star in recognition of Vernon winning the 1953 American League batting title. This candid black-and-white picture will be of interest to both POTUS and Washington Senators historians alike. Framed and matted to nearly 15 x 14-3/8" dimensions, this very piece hung proudly in Vernon's home until his 2008 passing. Despite limited wear to the wood exterior, the overall presentation of this heirloom is impressive. Frames included with lots: while we make every effort to protect the frames included in these lots during pre-auction storage and post-auction shipping, we are not responsible for any damage to the frames themselves, and no refunds will be given due to frame damage. The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
