Recall a big year for Sammy Sosa with the viewing of this 1996 Chicago Cubs game-used bat. As he did throughout much of his career, Sosa put up monster numbers in 1966, including 40 homers and 100 RBI, and from the looks of it, this war club saw its fair share of the action. A Rawlings Big Stick professional model, this un-cracked gamer shows abundant signs of authentic use. Numerous contact marks are instantly recognized on the barrel of this black finish bat, which is labeled with Sosa’s name and team near the end of the barrel. The mid-handle is coated with gripping agent, and Sosa’s uniform number “21” is written in silver on the knob. Impressed into the knob are the model number 256B, the date 95, and the number 124. PSA/DNA has assigned this seasoned weapon a game use grade of GU 8.
