Truman was nearing the end of his time in office as our 33rd President when he signed this piece, as evidenced but the date-inscribed dedication applied to the matted area at bottom, which reads in full as "To Hon. E. Barrett Perryman, with kindest regards & very best wishes. White House, Nov. 28, 1952, Harry Truman". Truman (d.1972) left office on January 20, 1953. Barret was a U.S. circuit judge. Housed in a period frame showing moderate wear, this display measures 12" x 16" overall. Truman's signature and note remain distinct. Artist Harry S. Moskowitz of Philadelphia has signed on the matting directly below the portrait image area, and he has included the limited-edition numbering "84/125".
