The "Star-Spangled Avenger" is going out on a hot date, in this 1/48 Timely Comics Captain America Comics #65 issue. Syd Shores titillating cover sees Cap stepping out with a beauty in a red dress, as a gang of hoods looks on in the background. Deceptively, Cap gives sidekick Bucky a backhand slap, but it turns out to be for Bucky's own good, as Cap is aware of a threat to Bucky's life, and wants him out of the picture, while he exposes the crime ring, and the femme fatale. This nicely preserved Golden Age comic has earned a favorable 3.5, Light Tan to Off-White Pages grade from CGC. Comics from this era are well-known to be in short supply, and this one is no different, with a CGC Universal Grade population of sixty-nine, in all grades. Label notes are "Bill Woolfolk story, Al Avison and Ken Bald art, Syd Shores cover and art. Human Torch story. Half page "Hey Look" written and drawn by Harvey Kurtzman.".
