Hail one of our greatest Chiefs, when you bring home this circa 1900 Theodore Roosevelt silk portrait display. Literally a Mount Rushmore president, Roosevelt is widely considered by historians as one of the top five best U.S. Presidents. Upon the assassination of William McKinley, Roosevelt was sworn is as president on September 14, 1901. Assuming office at the age of forty-two, he remains the youngest man ever to serve as president.
Roosevelt looks the part of a hale, yet wizened figure of authority in this antique silk, which also features a facsimile signature below his regal image. Framed to overall dimensions of 11"" x 13", this silk portrait is matted in an oval window for dynamic effect. While the frame shows age-appropriate wear, it remains serviceable, with a strong look of period authenticity. There's a small hole in the matting at the twelve o'clock position, located well away from the image area, and the silk retains a good deal of original integrity, with wear being relatively modest.
The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
