An incredible Hall of Fame career came to an end, the year this 1928 Tris Speaker die-cut wood figure was made. Following an astonishing career with three other American League teams, Speaker had his last hurrah with the Philadelphia Athletics. This ancient figure stands 11" tall, on a 6-1/2" base. Speaker is depicted in an A's uniform, leaning on a bat, in a photograph on the front. Moderate soiling is noted, and there are two small spots of surface loss on the left shoulder. Despite these conditions, this antique figure remains attractive, with a great look of period authenticity. While the origin of this figure is a mystery, its great display appeal is no secret.
