Description

Hank Aaron H&B signature-model "A99" bat dating from the 1970-1972 manufacturing period. Graded GU 7 by PSA/DNA. The bat, which is uncracked, displays evidence of light use, including a few ball marks on the right and left barrel. The model number ("A99") is stamped into the knob. There is a Bob Aspromonte signature on the barrel in black marker. He added the inscription "To Tiger/A future Big Leaguer" directly above his signature. Aspromonte was Aaron's teammate with the Atlanta Braves in 1969 and 1970. PSA/DNA has asserted in its letter of authenticity that "Judging by the inscription on the barrel, Aspromonte obtained this Aaron bat, possibly from Aaron himself, and then gifted the bat to 'Tiger' at a later date. The bat appears to have light use, with no identifying player number on the knob. Use by Aaron or Aspromonte cannot be confirmed." Despite his advancing age, Aaron was still at the top of his game between the years 1970 and 1972, posting home run totals of 38, 47, and 34, respectively, during that three-season span. Length: 35 inches. Weight: 32.6 ounces. Full LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA (for the bat only, a corresponding sticker is affixed to the handle). Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA (for the autograph only). The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
