Lot # 956: 1945 New York Giants Team-Signed Baseball with Ott, Lombardi & Luque - Full JSA LOA

A healthy coating of shellac has kept the (23) bold signatures on this 1945 New York Giants team-signed baseball looking fresh. It was a middle of the pack finish for the considerably depleted Giants in '45. Though many of the game's players were off fighting WWII, this Giants squad boasted a fair number of notables, including Hall of Famers Mel Ott and Ernie Lombardi, fan favorites Sal Maglie and Billy Jurges, and wizened coaches Dolf Luque and "Bubber" Jonnard. Hand dated "1945" on the north panel, this period signed ball is an ONL/Frick model, which also retains a good deal of integrity, thanks to the protective coating.
