Baseball lifer Ossie Bluege sent his regards and congratulations to J.G. Taylor Spink and company, on the 60th Anniversary of leading publication The Sporting News, with this signed handwritten letter. This crisp 8-1/2" x 11" page is dated 6/14/46, and it is addressed to "Mr. A.J. Flynn, The Sporting News, 535 Fifth Ave, New York, NY.". Bluege's neatly penned correspondence remains distinct throughout, and concludes with his ("9.5") strength signature, as "O.L. "Ossie" Bluege". In the contents, Bluege extends his congratulations to "Mr. Taylor Spink and his Sporting News organization on this its Diamond Jubilee". Bluege also expresses his appreciation for the contribution The Sporting News has made "in the development of our National game during these past sixty years". This vintage letter remains clean and appealing, despite two original period compacting folds, and a couple of small dings on the right edge. Accompanying, is a 1946 supplement (EX) celebrating The Sporting News Diamond Jubilee.
