Lot # 1353: 1985 Steve Garvey San Diego Padres Game-Used Home Jersey - Wood LOA

Steve Garvey has been in the conversation for the Hall of Fame in recent years. The 10-time All-Star won the National League MVP in 1974 and personified the image of the Los Angeles Dodgers for 14 years, until free agency took him to San Diego, where he was instrumental in the Padres NL Championship in 1984. This 1985 San Diego Padres home jersey, Wilson size 44, displays the manufacturers label on the left shirt tail above the year tag embroidered “6 85,” indicating uniform number and year of issue. The jersey shows very light wear, of little concern, as it simply may have been an extra shirt given Garvey's iron man constitution. As stated in the detailed Letter of Authenticity from Phil Wood, Garvey was “a true star of the game through the 1970s and 80s.”
