Celebrate one of the high points in Cleveland Guardians history, with this 1948 Indians world champions display. Founded in 1896, the Cleveland franchise has won the World Series twice, in 1920 and 1948. The more recent of these triumphs is proudly recognized, with this professionally mounted ensemble piece. Housed in a stately 18” x 31-1/2” frame with double blue and red matting are from top to bottom, a 6” x 9” die cut Chief Wahoo mascot patch, an approximate 9” x 7” photo dual-signed by Lou Boudreau and Bob Feller, a 3-1/2” x 1-1/2” Satchel Paige cut signature, and a 5” x 2” brass title plate. The patch presents in excellent condition. Visible in an area of 8” x 6-1/2”, the photograph appears to be a period news service type in attractive condition, with Boudreau’s signature presenting (“6”) quality, and Feller’s signature reporting as a (“7”) strength example. The all-important Paige signature merits a (“7.5”) rating, and the title plate is like-new, with the legend “1948 Cleveland Indians, Lou Boudreau – Shortstop/Manager, Satchel Paige – Pitcher, Bob Feller – Pitcher, World Champions”. Other than a few miniscule nicks, which could easily be touched-up, the frame remains very attractive.
