Ace hurler Seaver and the "Miracle Mets" amazed the baseball world in 1969, by winning 100 games during the regular season, after finishing dead last or next to last in their first seven seasons of existence. The astonishment continued in the postseason, when the Mets swept the Atlanta Braves in the first ever NLCS series, and then stunned the heavily favored Baltimore Orioles in the '69 World Series. Crafted by Mitchell & Ness of Philadelphia, this 1969 Mets home-style jersey is labeled from the famous maker's Cooperstown Collection on the front-left tail. The sleeves of this high quality, pinstriped garment are adorned with an MLB 100th Anniversary patch on the right and a Mets cityscape logo patch on the left. Spanning the breast are Mets lettering and the number 41, which is repeated on the back. A Mitchell & Ness factory label inside the collar has an adjacent size 48 tag at right, and the legend "1969 Tom Seaver" is embroidered on the right-front tail.
