Fine art is rendered in precious metal form with this 1972-1976 Franklin Mint The Genius of Rembrandt sterling silver collection of 31 medals. These 2" diameter rounds replicate the masterpieces of renowned Dutch Golden Age artist Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn. Each has a weight of 2.08 ounces and a silver composition of 92.5%. The actual silver content of each medal is 1.963 troy ounces, which, multiplied by 31 medals, equals a total of 60.85 ounces of silver. Though most of these medals have a small tacky spot on the mirror-like fields, likely transferred from long contact with the holders, all are in a brilliant uncirculated state, with incredible detail definition. A few standout pieces are "Bathsheba with King David's Letter," "Danae," "Self-Portrait," "The Good Samaritan," "The Prodigal Son in the Tavern," "The Night Watch," and "Christ in the Storm on the Sea of Galilee."
