Description

Baseball's main stage event is celebrated in fine fashion, with this 1947-1957 World Series program collection (10). With three MLB teams playing within the city limits, New York was the center of the baseball universe at the time. Every edition found in this collection features either the New York Yankees, the New York Giants or the Brooklyn Dodgers, and most have two New York teams as the participants. Given the era and the teams. there are plenty of major stars in play here, including a program from Jackie Robinson's first World Series, which finished up his 1947 rookie season. Also noted are legends Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, "Yogi" Berra, Roy Campanella, Eddie Mathews, Phil Rizzuto, "Pee Wee" Reese, "Duke" Snider, and many other stars of the day.
