Description

1947-1955 Pro football running back "Buddy" Young makes a determined run for your money, with this selection of (4) related items. Young (d.1983) began his pro career in the AAFC with the New York Yankees in 1947, and then graduated to the NFL in 1950, where he played for the New York Yanks, Dallas Texans and Baltimore Colts. While Young had a productive nine-year career as a player, his most notable achievement was perhaps becoming the first African-American executive hired by a major sports league, when he joined the NFL's scouting and public relations department in 1964.
