“The Duke of Tralee,” World Series champion Roger Bresnahan is key in baseball history, credited for popularizing shin guards and developing the first batting helmet. This 37 oz, 32-inch bat was ordered during the labeling period 1908 to 1911. It is uncracked and exhibits evidence of heavy use. Many ball marks are visible on the left barrel. Spalding Gold Medal Series bats and Autograph Series bats were undoubtedly used by players at the Major League level, but bats from those years were also available to the public. The detailed letter implies it was used, "exhibits evidence of heavy use," and could have been used by Bresnahan, but it is not definitively noted on the letter.
