Description

A new era dawned in the comic book realm, with the publication of this 4/68 Marvel Comics Captain America #100 issue. After being thawed from a lengthy period of frozen suspended animation in The Avengers #4, Cap began sharing space with Iron Man in the Tales of Suspense anthology series. Marvel expanded its catalog in 1968 by ending several double-feature anthology titles, to create new solo titles for its popular heroes, including Captain America. Continuing the numbering from Tales of Suspense, this #100 issue begins the Star-Spangled Avenger's first self-titled run since his brief 1954 Atlas three-issue revival, which came after the 1949 shutdown of Timely's Captain America Comics. CGC has rated this expansion era prize 5.5, Off-White to White Pages. Label notes are "Stan Lee story, Jack Kirby and Syd Shores cover and art. 1st issue. Black Panther appearance. Story and numbering continued from Tales of Suspense #99.".
